The task
The publisher sells Arabic books and translations, with Arabic as the main language and English and German alongside. Shop, author pages, checkout and emails run in all three languages.
In September 2026 the work was to make the shop consistent in every language: repair the custom modules, check the translations, align the payment form and legal texts.
What I delivered
- Repair of the custom Divi 5 modules for the header, shop, product, author and recommendation pages
- A review of every English and German translation, with formal German throughout
- A Stripe payment form with card and Klarna in the shop design, set in the Cairo typeface for Arabic
- Consent banner and legal texts in three languages
- An HTTPS fix and daily update checks
Problems solved
Reading direction in page numbers and arrows
Page numbers and arrows run right to left in Arabic and left to right in English and German. The language also holds when the shop loads content in the background.
Module texts in the right language
WPML only translates registered text domains, so Arabic showed on German pages. A custom bridge now reads the module translations directly, and author archives no longer end in a 404.
720 translation corrections
Every English and German text was compared with the Arabic original. 859 checkout and email strings now use formal German.
Stripe form in the shop design
The payment form takes over the colours, spacing and typeface of the shop, with Cairo for Arabic.
Book recommendations with a fallback
Every book first shows related titles, then more by the same author, then the best sellers.
