Multilingual websites with Arabic
A website in several languages is more than translated text. Each language needs its own URLs for Google, a fitting typeface and reading direction, and translated forms, emails and payment pages. I set Arabic right to left, with a mirrored layout.
What is included
- A language structure with separate URLs and hreflang for each language
- Arabic right to left: layout, navigation, numbers and arrows
- Typefaces that suit the language, such as Cairo or Noto Kufi for Arabic
- Translations through WPML or a headless CMS, checked against the original
- Translated forms, emails, legal pages and checkout
Costs
The effort depends on the number of languages, whether one of them runs right to left, and who provides and checks the translations.
An existing website can also become multilingual later. The quote lists separately what is one-off and what is per language.
